The Details


Grannie's Bake-Off (Sunday, April 22nd, 11am to 3pm, Hilton Garden Inn, Troy, NY) invites amateur and professional bakers to compete in baking and decorating contests, with a panel of judges deciding for amateur categories and members of the public judging professional categories.

Professional bakers are those who bake at a commercial facility (bakery, restaurant, etc.).  Amateur bakers are those who bake within their own homes.

Please note:  General public ticket sales begin April 1 at area Price Chopper locations and online.


The Judges


  • William Dowd, editor and publisher of Dowd's Guides, a portfolio of websites and blogs dealing with food, drink, and destinations
  • Christian Noe, owner and chef of Nighthawk's Kitchen in Troy and first place winner of the Mac & Cheese Bowl
  • Ric Orlando, owner and chef of New World Home Cooking Cafe and New World Catering in Woodstock, Chef at New World Bistro Bar in Albany, 2010 Food Network CHOPPED Champion, among other accomplishments.
